CHRISTMAS STREET COLLECTION
We have a street collection license for two days: Friday & Saturday, 21st & 22nd December
Instead of the traditional ‘Carols & Chestnuts’, we are doing ‘Carols with Mince Pies & Mulled Wine’.
Our gazebo will be in its usual place, but we will only post people at the two corners opposite, outside Joules and the former NatWest Bank building. This means we need a minimum of four people for each shift – two on the stall and one on each corner.
The stall will be the base for the music and serving the mulled wine (kindly donated by the Royal Castle). It will also be the place where we warm the mini-mince pies (purchased at Lidl) for distribution by those on each corner as well as at the stall.
The first shift on Friday starts at 09.30 to allow time for getting everything set up to start collecting at 10.00. Extra people at this time would be helpful. Then we will operate the stall in two-hour shifts. During the last shift, we will finish our street collection at 15.30 approximately, to allow time to close up the stall for the evening (Friday) or take it down (Saturday) with a view to finishing the shift by 16.00 or shortly afterwards. Extra people for the final Saturday shift would be helpful. We realise the weather may play its part!
The Rotary stall and carols are widely appreciated as part of Dartmouth’s Christmas festivities. We hope the Club can continue to play its part in adding to the atmosphere.
We will again be promoting the work we do for the young people of the town.
