The British Firework Championships on Plymouth’s waterfront. Enjoy spectacular pyrotechnics that will illuminate Plymouth Sound as six top firework companies battle it out over two nights, each putting on an awe-inspiring ten minute display in an attempt to be crowned the winner. Free entertainment starts from 2pm with music, fairground rides and refreshment stalls on Plymouth Hoe.

New Year’s Day at The Races

An informal day at Exeter Racecourse at the top of Haldon Hill where, for the Haldon Premier online admission Fee of £16.50 per head (organise this yourself please at www.exeter.thejockeyclub.co.uk or it will cost you £22 on the day) you are allowed access into various bars not available to the ordinary admission level, and where we shall be basing ourselves on a large table adjacent to the viewing platform in the Iddsleigh Gallery.

Very tasty lunches are available for eating at our table from the self-service catering area at extremely reasonable prices. There is no obligation to place bets at all – the day has been designed to provide a very convivial relaxed post New Year’s Eve experience in the company of Rotarian friends.  Rotarians, Wives and Partners and all friends are invited to this event

Bowling Evening

An indoor Bowls Competition for members, wives and partners at the Torquay Bowling Rink on Torwood Street (Babbacombe Road).

Teams of 6 or 8 will compete on the first game and will be ranked in order according to their final score. On the second game, teams will be made up in order of ranking so that all the top scorers will be competing together, likewise those with hopeless scores will also be competing against each other in the Dunce’s competition. Prizes will be awarded in both categories.
